Kitchen Assistant

Privacy Policy

A short, plain-English summary of what we collect and how it’s used.

Last updated: April 29, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how the Kitchen Assistant mobile application (“Kitchen Assistant”, the “App”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you use the App on iOS. By installing or using the App you agree to the practices described below. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

1. The short version

2. Information we handle

Stored locally on your device

The App keeps the following on your device only, in UserDefaults: timer state (start time, target time, paused state), preferred alarm sound, onboarding completion flag, in-app purchase status, selected recipe metadata (food name, variant, image asset name), interstitial pacing counters and rating prompt timestamps. None of this is sent to us.

Notifications

If you grant notification permission, the App schedules local notifications via iOS so the alarm fires when your timer ends — even if the App is closed. The notification content does not leave your device.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

We display banner and interstitial ads through Google’s Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob). AdMob may process data to serve relevant ads and measure their effectiveness, including:

If you do not authorize tracking, AdMob serves non-personalized ads only and the IDFA is not made available. See Google’s policies: policies.google.com/privacy and AdMob data disclosure.

Tracking consent (UMP)

For users in the EEA, UK and other regulated regions, we present Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) consent form to obtain or update your choice regarding personalized advertising. Your selection is stored on the device by Google’s SDK.

In-App Purchases

Purchases are processed entirely by Apple (StoreKit). We do not receive your payment information. The App only records whether the user has unlocked the ad-free upgrade.

Ratings & reviews

The App may display Apple’s built-in rating prompt (SKStoreReviewController). Apple, not us, handles whether the prompt appears and what data is collected.

Sharing recipe images

If you tap the share button to send a generated recipe image (Instagram / Photos / Messages), iOS handles delivery via the system share sheet. The image only leaves your device when you confirm in the share sheet.

6. Data retention

Locally stored data persists until you reset it or delete the App. We do not store your data on our infrastructure.

7. Children

Kitchen Assistant is a general-audience cooking utility. It is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal data from them.

8. International users

The App is offered worldwide via the App Store. Data handled by third parties (e.g. Google) may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own under those providers’ standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.
